Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 29, 2026

MugBar is built to do one thing well, show your mug's temperature, without collecting anything about you. We do not collect, store, sell, or share your personal data. Full stop.

1. Information we do not collect

MugBar has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. We do not collect your name, location, contacts, usage statistics, identifiers, or any other personal information.

2. How the app works with your data

MugBar communicates directly with your mug over Bluetooth. Information read from the mug, such as its temperature, target temperature, battery level, and the name you have given it, is processed entirely on your device. On iOS, this information is shared between the MugBar app and its widget through a private, on-device app group container so the widget can display the latest reading. None of this data ever leaves your device or is transmitted to us or any third party.

3. Notifications

If you allow notifications, MugBar schedules local notifications on your device (for example, when your mug reaches its target temperature). These are generated and delivered entirely on your device and are not sent through any server.

4. Support requests

If you email us for support at support@mugbar.app, we receive the email address you write from and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use this information solely to respond to and resolve your request. We do not add you to any mailing list, share your message, or use it for marketing. You may ask us to delete our email correspondence with you at any time.

5. Children's privacy

MugBar is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

6. Third parties

MugBar uses only Apple's own operating system frameworks (such as Core Bluetooth, WidgetKit, and notifications). It does not embed third-party SDKs. MugBar works with the Ember® Mug but is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Ember Technologies, Inc.

7. Data retention and your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to retain, access, correct, or delete, except any email you have sent us directly, which you can ask us to delete.

8. Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
